Daily Activities

Reading

We will have a book of the day picked out at the library. During circle time a story will be read to all children, with a craft to follow. Children will also be encouraged to pick a book to read quietly to themselves. Children have the opportunity to check out a book from the child care library to take home with them for a couple days.

Writing

We will practice our letters on a daily basis. One letter at a time, so it doesn't get to confusing for the little ones. To make learning fun, I try to incorporate a fun craft with all our learning activities.

Math

We will work on our numbers each day as well. I use fun ways to help the children add and subtract. For example: If I have ten jelly beans but give one to my friend, and I eat another, how many jelly beans do I have left?

Outdoor Play

We will play out doors for at least 20 minutes a day. If we are not able to play outside due to weather, we will do a form of exercise indoors, such as yoga. If it is a nice day we may take a walk around the neighborhood or walk to the park.

Nap Time

Nap time is from 1:45 pm to 3:30 pm. Children will receive a floor cot, pillow, and blanket (or they can bring their own blanket). They will sleep on the living room floor. Infants will sleep in a portable crib (provided by you).
